All you would expect from a country town motel, and with outstanding customer service. The hosts were very friendly, helpful and welcoming which made the biggest difference to our stay. Beds were comfortable and the bathroom was a decent size.

A big thank you, we were stuck in the flooding travelling with a nine and seven year old, we stayed three nights, nothing was a problem, ray helped up us out with mesh for the cars (grasshopers), they automatically kept booking us in until they knew the roads were clear. Family friendly, clean, fantastic hospitality for a very unplanned stay.

I would like to start by saying thank you to Jan and family and Gorge(the brolga) for making us feel very welcome. They went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. Believe me this motel is on a 5 star level. I have stayed at several motels and hotels with work and omg this motel is all kinds of awesome. From the beds (king size) to the cleanliness. The air conditioning was so cool. The showers were hot and the water pressure was great. The breakfast we had was hot and delicious.
I can't say enough good things about this motel.
Thanks guys for making us feel welcome

Nice and close to town so an easy walk up to dinner. This motel has recently been taken over by a lovely friendly couple and nothing is a trouble to them.
The room was clean and comfortable and undercover parking was provided. Nice, quiet air conditioner. The Wi-Fi was excellent.

Absolutely lovely hosts. Rooms are comfortable, clean & welcoming. Plenty of room to park larger vehicles. Pub down the road recommended for dinner. Showers and bathrooms look like they are brand new. Wifi fast and reliable. Austar a nice touch. Will definitely be back.

Our main reason for visiting Winton was to go to the Age of the Dinosaur museum and Lark Quarry for the dinosaur stampede exhibition. We stayed in this motel which is on the main street in Winton and you can easily walk to the cafes, pubs, shops. This is budget accommodation and is obviously utilised by fly in fly out workers etc. It is basic but offers all you need for a short stay. The workers can be a little noisy at night out drinking at the BBQ site and leaving early in the morning, but it is what it is! Big plus is the availability of Austar! The people of Winton are very accommodating, helpful and friendly and when it comes to accommodation you have to remember where you are - the middle of nowhere really!! We loved this town and will definitely return.

Stayed in this hotel for 1 night. Very clean and comfortable. The bathroom had a notice which said the water would have a Sulphur smell. They have explained the reason being the place located on top of a mineral basin. Free WiFi was provided but was not strong enough.

Was disappointed that Geoff and Lynne have moved on, but the rooms are still spectacular! Stayed at the beginning of Festival weeks, so was lucky to score a room. Breakfast was prompt and well presented. Cheap, clean, tidy accommodation in a great location to the Main Street!

The Outback Hotel is in the main street of Winton about one block away from the town center. This is a great location as it is not far to walk but far enough away to avoid any noise from town. We have stayed in a number of hotels in small country towns and to a degree they are all pretty similar, however this one stands out for a few reasons. The rooms are about average size but well laid out and functional, the combined bathroom and toilet is the same. You park your car right outside your room in a dedicated spot, another feature I liked, no finding a spot three doors down and then finding a ding in your car door the next day. The units were very clean, well presented and maintained. Also most welcome was a washing machine, dryer and cloths line available for guests. There was a charge for the washing machine and dryer which we were happy to pay. Most important of all the owners were very friendly and most helpful, although I must say we have found this to be the case with most people in smaller towns. The real question is would we stay here again and our answer would be an unqualified yes!
